Lowland League fixtures day: Clubs learn their opening games for the new season

Lowland League clubs East Kilbride, Caledonian Braves and Cumbernauld Colts have today learned their fixtures for the new season.

The 19-team league, features relaunched Open Goal Broomhill and Hearts 'B' joining their Celtic and Rangers counterparts, while Tranent Juniors have replaced relegated Vale of Leithen.

It kicks off on July 23 and is set to end on May 22.

East Kilbride start their season away to Tranent on July 23, before hosting back-to-back games against Rangers 'B' and Hearts 'B' at K-Park on July 26 and 30, respectively.

Kevin Rutkiewicz's side then travel to Open Goal Broomhill on August 2, and Celtic 'B' three days later.

Caledonian Braves have been handed a home game against Gala Fairydean Rovers to kick-off their campaign on July 23, in the first of three home games in a row.

Cumbernauld Colts are also discovering who they are up against first this season (Airdrie Coatbridge Advertiser)

Ricky Waddell's side then entertain Gretna 2008 and Bo'ness United on July 26 and 30 at Alliance Park.

Braves are then on the road to face Dalbeattie Star on August 3, and East Stirlingshire three days later.

Cumbernauld Colts have been handed an away opener against Bo'ness United on July 23, but then have back-to-back clashes against Tranent and Rangers 'B' at Broadwood on July 27 and 30.

David Proctor's men are then on the road where they travel to East Stirlingshire on August 3, and Dalbeattie Star on August 6.
