'Lowest of the low' thieves snatched a man's bag as he lay unconscious after having a seizure outside Sports Direct

Thieves stole a bag from a man's car as he lay unconscious after having a seizure.

Brent Snape, 39, had visited McDonalds with a family member and was eating his food in his car when he took ill.

But as he was being treated by two passers-by and paramedics his bag containing his passport, bank cards, some cash and other belongings was snatched.

Brent, who was parked behind Sports Direct on Kingsway Retail Park in Rochdale at the time of the theft, described the thieves as 'the lowest of the low'.

He said: "It was a one-off seizure, a strange one.

"I haven’t had one for 10 years.

"It’s that it’s something someone did whilst I was vulnerable.

"They’re the lowest of the low. It’s shocking."

Brent, who lives in Manchester, added: "When I woke up, I looked around for my bag. I take it everywhere with me.

"For it to just disappear, I knew it wasn’t right.

"The two girls said there was a guy who came up to the car, then kind of scuttled off

"I was going to go and visit my brother in Spain soon but I can’t do that now without my passport."

The incident took place at about 3.40pm on Tuesday, September 8.

In a statement, GMP said: "We were called to Kingsway Retail Park at 4.20pm to reports of a theft from a car.

"It’s reported that numerous personal items and a small quantity of cash were stolen."
