With barbecue season in full swing, burgers and sausages have become a staple part of our summer diets.
But for anyone that's looking for some leaner versions of the faithful fares, the UK's lowest fat beef burger has just been announced.
And it's not cheap, made by fancy Scottish butcher Donald Russell , and setting you back £15 for a pack of two.
Made from 100% lean steak, the burger contains 4.3g of fat per 100g - the lowest fat content of any other burger on the market.
This means that the burgers have less fat that Slimming World's own Iceland syn-free beef quarter pounders, which weigh in at 5.2g of fat per 100g, although they are significantly cheaper, at £3.50 for a pack of four.
As for all the other average supermarket beef burger patties, the lowest fat own-brand beef burger we could spot in UK supermarkets was at Tesco, whose Finest 4 British Beef Steak burgers have 11.7g of fat per 100g, for £3 a pack.
ASDA Butcher’s Selection Beef Burgers come a close second, with 13g of fat per 100g, and are even cheaper than Tesco, with a pack of eight for £4.
At Morrisons, it's 18g of fat per 100g for the store's Market St British Beef Burgers (£4 for 10) , whereas Ocado's quarter pounders have 19g per 100g (£2.50 for four).
Fancy Marks and Spencers and Waitrose are in last place, with 19.40g and 20.90g respectively. Whilst you can buy Waitrose's burgers singularly for £1.69 each , at M&S you'll need to order a platter of 18 burgers online for £16 , using the store's Food to Order service.
