A care home nurse described as "loving, kind and generous" has died after contracting coronavirus.

Lalaine Lopez Pesario, 53, who had worked at Mumbles Nursing Home, Swansea, since October 2018, died on Sunday, May 3.

The mum-of-one, from Skewen, was praised for her dedication to the job and her positive attitude towards care home residents and fellow staff members.

A post on the page states: "Lalaine Lopez Pesario, a loving wife, mother, sister, auntie and a friend, may have lost the battle to Covid-19, but she was a warrior who bravely fought and risked her life in the name of service and dedication to her profession.

"She is, and will forever be, our hero. Lalaine's kindness and generosity was overflowing. Her smile and laugh was infectious.

"Those who know her can attest that she could talk for endless hours about anything and everything, and her voice is definitely one that we will all miss."

Yolanda Jones, the director of Mumbles Nursing Home and Lalaine's close friend, added: "Lalaine was a kind, caring person and also a dedicated nurse. Her sudden loss brought a huge sad impact to our home and the rest of the community.

"She was compassionate and treated everyone with extra care and love. She brought light to our home as she loved to dance and sing."
