A "loving" bulldog with terminal cancer needs a foster home to spend his final months in.
After a life enduring cruelty, 15 months in a kennel and numerous operations to treat his cancer, all Nuke needs is a quiet foster home with a loving, experienced owner.
Nuke has been at the Woodside RSPCA centre in Braunstone Frith, Leicester, where an ongoing cruelty case meant he was unable to be re-homed.
Now, after his tragic diagnosis, he needs a home while he still has a good quality of life, Leicestershire Live reports.
Chelsea-Ann Hatton, from Woodside Animal Centre, described him as "one of the most loving, gentle hearted and endearing dogs we have had the pleasure of meeting here at Woodside".
Appealing for a foster home for Nuke, she said: "It brings us great pain to say that there has been a change of plan in our quest to find Nuke a forever home.
"After spending over one year and three months in our care, RSPCA inspectors winning his cruelty case in court, undergoing multiple operations to remove cancerous lumps and other on-going health issues, we have sadly found that the cancer has returned and this time it is terminal.
"Due to this, we are now looking for a long-term foster home for Nuke, while he still has a good quality of life.
"As a foster dog, all of Nuke's food, veterinary costs and on-going care will be provided by Woodside Animal Centre.
"We simply need an experienced, adult only, pet free home, where Nuke can enjoy some well-deserved love and as many teddies as he pleases."
She added:"Despite his size, Nuke is one of the most loving, gentle hearted and endearing dogs we have had the pleasure of meeting here at Woodside.
"He is very friendly and loves to play - he is very much a bull in a china shop and sofa snuggles are a must!
"We really hope we can find him the perfect foster home, so he can finally have the life he truly deserves, no matter how long that may be for."
