A kind-hearted woman came to the rescue of a complete stranger when the contactless payment system went down in Tesco.
The "lovely" gesture occurred in the queue at the Bidston Tesco when the contactless payment system went down causing "absolute chaos".
When a customer went to pay for her lunch but couldn't because she only had her phone, the kind-hearted stranger who was behind her in the queue stepped in and paid for her.

Writing in the Wallasey Gossip Facebook Group, the woman who had her lunch bought for her said she was "so touched" by the gesture.
She said she had heard about similar situations before but had never experienced it first hand.
The woman added the world is a better place because of people like the stranger.
She wrote: "The contactless payment system in Tesco Bidston was down today causing absolute chaos.
"There was an amazing lady in the queue behind me who bought my lunch for me because I wasn't able to pay on my phone.
"I've heard of things like this happening to other people but I've never experienced it first hand and I was so touched by it.
"So to the lovely lady in Tesco who subscribes to Gusto and was buying sumac, thank you so much.
"I will pay it forward - people like you make the world a nicer place."
The woman later said in the comments: "I felt so sorry for the staff and I said I would just put the shopping back because I didn't have my cash or card on me and I didn't really 'need' the shopping.
"And then this lovely lady steps in - I was so touched by it."
Other members of the Facebook group were quick to applaud the actions of the stranger.
One commenter wrote: "Second comment I've read today like that - maybe kindness is the new variant. Let's hope it spreads."
A second person said: "Lovely to hear of this kindness."
And a third reader wrote: "What a lovely thing to do. Love that."
