Lovely Poolbeg Lighthouse vandalised by idiot who wrote racist graffiti on wall

The walls of one of Dublin's most loved spots were vandalised by a racist idiot.

People around South Dublin and beyond were left very upset after a thug sprayed the words "no blacks" onto the walls of the iconic Poolbeg Lighthouse on the great South Wall.

The beautiful spot is one of the most popular for walkers around the city and many people had let their frustrations known.

Green Part Councillor Hazel Chu alerted Dublin City Council to the painting, but then decided she'd go down and sort it herself as "it's a family walk area".

She took to Twitter saying: "Please stop being d*@ks and writing crap like this around our city!

"Got contacted by peeps on Twitter and via mail to ask council to remove. I've contacted them but since it's a family walk area I went down today to do what I can. Couldn't reach the top though!"

People were quick to thank Hazel for removing the words.

Therese Cahill said: "Good on you for giving up your time to cover this filth - you shouldn’t have to but I’m so proud of you for doing it. I’ll never understand that antagonistic hate fuelled mentality."

Marcas Suibhne said: "Not all hero’s wear capes Hazel! Yet again proving the party I vote for is the best!"
