Lovell Homes' £32m Weston-super-Mare development given green light

A new £32million housing development in Weston-super-Mare has been given the go ahead by planners.

Lovell Homes has been granted permission to build 130 properties as part of the new Foxglove Meadows development in Hutton.

It is the second scheme Lovell has secured in Weston as it expands into the South West.

Construction work will start on the scheme next month, according to Lovell, with the first homes expected to be available in early 2021.

The development, which is located on land next to Woodside Avenue, includes 81 properties for open-market sale through Lovell Homes and 49 affordable homes which will be available through Radian Housing Association.

James Duffett, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We’re delighted to have received planning consent to deliver a total of 130 units, which will work towards tackling the demand for new homes in the South West.

“We’re extremely proud at the success of our expansion plans within Weston-super-Mare and across the South West, with Foxglove Meadows playing an integral part in our growth, whilst reducing the shortage of homes across the region."

The properties available for open-market sale include two, three and four-bedroom homes.

The developer is planning to launch its show homes at Foxglove Meadows, which will include a four-bedroom home and a three-bedroom property, in 2021.
