Loved and Lost: The people from our region who died after contracting coronavirus

The coronavirus has brought heartache to thousands of people in Greater Manchester.

Every day we hear news reports about the total death toll rising in our region.

At the Manchester Evening News, we have pledged to pay tribute to the people behind the statistics.

If you want to pay tribute to a loved one, fill out the form here.

For months we have been running the Loved and Lost campaign, in which we honour the memory of the people who died with this terrible disease.

This week, more families have been in touch with warm words about their loved ones.

The 89-year-old, from Chadderton in Oldham, was a former sewing machinist, in factories and from home.

She was married for 68 years to Ronald Murray.

She was a mother to three, grandmother to six, great-grandmother to eight and great great-grandmother to five.

Iris was very passionate about gardening, baking and most importantly, family.

She loved travelling to horse races around the country.

Iris also loved travelling abroad, especially to Malta and Tenerife.

In a tribute, granddaughter Adele Charnock wrote: "Iris touched the lives of many people, whom loved her dearly.

"She was a lovely, caring person and never let you leave her house with an empty stomach.

"She will be missed greatly. Forever in our hearts."

She passed away on November 6 at Royal Oldham Hospital.

Eamon, from Failsworth, loved football and loved his holiday days out with the family.

He loved his kids and was always wanting to help them make the right choices in life.

Son Tyrone said: "Everyday I wake hoping this was a dream.

"He was my best friend who was by our side from the day we was(sic) born, always giving his love, his advice, how to respect others.

"He was the best dad ever to us all even in difficult situations and choices he was forced to make.

"Yet he never appeared to let us down and I will always love and respect him and take on all his wisdom he taught me.

"Rest in peace dad, love Damien, Tyrone, Mason, Marcus."

Eamon died on April 1.
