Love Saves The Day: Arlo Parks cancels after heavy rain 'floods' stage

Love Saves The Day has been disrupted by "extremely heavy rain" which "flooded" a stage and left a headline act unable to perform. The festival, which has been welcoming revellers today (June 3) and yesterday at Ashton Court, was hit by downpours this evening forcing British singer Arlo Parks to cancel her act.

Parks uploaded a video of the flooded Lonely Hearts Club stage on to Twitter and apologised to her fans in the caption. "I’m so so sorry to everyone who was ready to see me at Love Saves the Day," she wrote.

"The stage was flooded and it just wasn’t safe to perform - I hope everyone had a wonderful time and I can’t wait to be stomping through Bristol again when the time is right". Parks had been due to perform just before 6.30pm.

Love Saves The Day also confirmed the disruption on their Instagram account, after they uploaded a statement which said: "That was a mad hour! All stages are in the process of reopening...

"However, we're sorry to say that due to the extremely heavy rain, Arlo Parks is unable to perform. We're looking to reopen Lonely Hearts for the remainder of the programme soon."

A spokesperson for Love Saves The Day said shortly afterwards: "Due to heavy rain a number of the stages had to be temporarily closed to make them safe for the artists to continue playing. The production team are working as quickly as possible to minimise disruption and the stages are reopening as each is ready to go.

"Any changes to set times for the rest of the day will be posted as soon as possible." You can follow our live blog with all of the latest updates on the festival here.

Just after 8pm the festival confirmed on its social media accounts that all stages and bars had reopened and it was "looking to resume our full evening programme". It also allowed re-entry for anyone with proof of a ticket for those who had left during the downpour, with a cut-off of 9.30pm to get back in.
