Love Saves The Day 2022: How many people are coming to Ashton Court?

Love Saves the Day festival is underway in Bristol today (Thursday, June 2) - the first of two days of music and festivities, this year taking place at Ashton Court Estate. And, falling across not one but two bank holiday dates, it's no wonder that organisers are expecting a big number of visitors over the course of the festival.

Its 10th edition is set to see an expected 30,000 people flock to the festival from far and wide, according to organisers. And a further 30,000 are expected tomorrow, too - that's 10,000 more than last year's event at Clifton Downs.

Gates opened for the 2022 festival just after 12pm this afternoon and those in attendance today will see music from acts including Bicep, Kurupt FM, Ross From Friends, Sub Focus, Caroline Polachek and more, across 10 stages. Organisers have dubbed this year's event, which falls on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, "a Jubilee party like no other to celebrate a decade of love" adding that it looks set to be "the biggest Love Saves the Day Festival to date".

There's already been a bit of traffic in the area around Ashton Court, with Brunel Way and Ashton Road looking particularly busy. People have been urged not to drive to the festival as there is no general public parking on the site.

Organisers say: "There will be road closures and parking exclusions in the surrounding area, so please come to the festival on foot, by bike or public transport." There is an allocated drop off/pick up point a few minutes' walk from the festival site for taxis/Uber arrivals, and there is a limited amount of bike parking.

The Love Bus costs £2 return and offers travel to and from the festival site from Temple Meads, via The Centre next to the fountains. Last entry into the festival will be at 8pm before the first day of the festival comes to a close at 11pm.

Bicep will be last to perform as headliners on the Love Saves Stage tonight with a set time scheduled to begin at 9.30pm. Then, it'll all begin again tomorrow, when the likes of Chas & Status, Mura Masa, Arlo Parks, Shy FX, Andy C, Wilkinson and Gorgon City will entertain Friday's festivalgoers for 2022's finale.
