Love Saves The Day 2021: Covid policy for Bristol festival set to welcome 50,000 people

One of Bristol's biggest music festivals kicks off next weekend with some huge acts set to perform across the four main stages.

Love Saves The Day will take place on Saturday, September 4 and Sunday, September 5 and is completely sold out, with thousands of revellers set to attend each day.

The event is being held on Clifton Downs this year, having moved from its usual location of Eastville Park.

The move to a larger site has allowed the festival to increase its capacity, with around 25,000 ticket-holders expected on both Saturday and Sunday, but what is the coronavirus policy for the event?

Love Saves The Day has confirmed the procedures and rules in place ahead of the festival, which will see the likes of Mahalia, Slow Thai and Little Simz performing.

A statement from the festival reads: "To get into the festival you can either take a NHS lateral flow test on the day of the event, receive a negative result and upload this to the NHS website and show the confirmation email, text, or pass on the NHS app.

"Or show you are fully vaccinated or have natural immunity on the NHS app.

"This is a condition of the event being given permission to take place from Bristol City Council and Public Health."

The statement adds: "We would encourage all attendees to wear a mask if they use buses to get to the site and for everyone to wear masks in the queue for and as you pass through the main gates into the event.

"You should also consider wearing masks when joining queues for bars, concessions and toilets.

"There will be increased hand washing and hand sanitizing stations around the site.

"We have increased the number of crew in our sanitation team and there will be extra cleaning of high touch points

"Do not attend the festival if you have any symptoms, have tested positive, you are in quarantine or have been contacted by NHS instructing you to self-isolate."

NHS Covid Pass

All attendees will need to show an NHS Covid Pass as a requirement of entry. You will be able to produce a pass if you have:

a) completed and registered a negative lateral flow test within 24hrs of the event
b) received a negative PCR test result in the last 24 hours
c) have received two vaccinations (or single dose of the Janssen vaccine) at least 14 days prior to the event
d) previously tested positive for Covid-19 using a PCR test, and it’s been at least 10 days since your positive result (valid for 180 days from the test date)

You can show your Covid Pass easily via the NHS App. Organisers recommend that you screenshot or download your pass onto your phone or print a copy - have them ready on arrival.

As not everyone has access to a smartphone, you can request a letter to demonstrate your vaccination status by calling 119. Note that the letter can take up to five working days to arrive and will be sent to the address registered with your GP.

If you cannot access your NHS Covid Pass you will need to provide evidence of a negative NHS lateral flow test, by reporting the result and presenting your NHS email or text confirmation at the gate.

What happens if you test positive before event?

Anyone with a ticket to either day of the festival who tests positive for coronavirus following a PCR test is asked to contact organisers to discuss the possibility of a refund.
