Love Saves The Day 2020 cancelled - what to do if you have tickets

Organisers of one of Bristol's most popular music festivals have confirmed the event will not go ahead in 2020.

Love Saves The Day was initially due to take place in Eastville Park in May with a line-up including Orbital, Kano and Little Simz, but organisers moved the two-day event to September due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Today (July 31), they announced will not be possible due to the "lack of clarity as to what can be safely achieved".

The statement reads: "It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that Love Saves The Day 2020 will no longer take place this year.

"We held on as long as we could to try and find a way to produce the event safely in September, but the lack of clarity as to what can be safely achieved has led us to this very difficult decision.

"We know that many of you will be as devastated by this news as ourselves and it will impact everyone that contributes to the success of the show - the artists, production and marketing teams, stage partners, bar staff and traders, freelancers and, of course, our audience - but we would like everyone to know that the safety of all of you comes first."

Organisers have asked people to hold on to their tickets rather than request refunds to "safeguard the future of the show".

The statement continues: "We are an independent festival and you can help us stay true to our roots and safeguard the future of the show by holding on to your tickets to be used at the 2021 event.

"It is highly likely that ticket availability will be strictly limited for next year, so we hope that by supporting us and holding on to your tickets you will be guaranteed one of 2021's first festivals."

What to do if you have tickets

Tickets for the 2021 festival will be automatically rolled over so those who have one already don't need to do anything.

Those who would like to request a refund can do so by emailing enquiries@lovesavestheday.org.

Team Love said the "wheels are already in motion" for next year's festival which will be "worth the wait".

The line-up will likely be built from scratch again to ensure the "most exciting and freshest talent at a level you have come to expect from us," continues the statement.
