Working from home is giving love rats the perfect cover for affairs, with Friday the most popular day to sneak off.
The change in routine means just 11% of love cheats have the excuse to disappear for a dirty weekend.
But they have been quick to seize on the flexibility of WFH, with 42% using the lie of “going to the office” as a chance to hook up with a lover.
A poll of people having affairs found more than a quarter choose Fridays for illicit romps, while one in five see Thursdays as the last chance for a liaison as the weekend looms.

The best day to believe your partner is actually doing what they say is Tuesday, with just 10% of cheats saying it’s a good day to stray.
And after “going to the office”, the gym is the next most popular lie – used by 29%. But a further 17% just claim they are off to the pub.
The survey of 2,000 members of illicitencounters.com, a dating site for married people, found less than a quarter feel guilty – although 97% say that would change if a partner suspected or found them out.

Site spokeswoman Jessica Leoni said: “The hybrid worker has become an opportunistic adulterer.
“It’s no surprise Fridays have taken over from dirty weekends, there’s no more solid alibi than going to work.”
