Bring them here
Time for change and a new way forward. Bring them here. Berowra Council welcomes you.
Hundreds of protesters armed with paper dolls bearing the text of leaked incident reports from Nauru are holding vigils at the offices of dozens of federal MPs on Monday, including the prime minister Malcolm Turnbull’s, calling for the immediate closure of Australia’s offshore immigration detention centres.
We want to hear your stories and see your pictures as Australia reacts to the Nauru files.
Sydney #lovemakesaway #bringthemhere
Here at Tanya Plibersek's office - a diverse crew of everyday Australian's disgusted by the #naurufiles asking the gov' to #bringthemhere and believing that #lovemakesaway
The action was organised by Love Makes a Way, a Christian advocacy group, in the wake of the Guardian’s publication of the Nauru files last week.
Vigils were held outside federal politicians’ offices across Sydney on Morning morning, including Tanya Plibersek’s in Broadway, Anthony Albanese’s in Marrickville and Tony Abbott’s in Warringah.
Protests were also planned at the Brisbane offices of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and the Perth electorate office of the foreign minister, Julie Bishop.
Were you one of the hundreds of people who attended a #LoveMakesAWay protest, or will you be attending a vigil in any of the other cities where events are planned this week? We want to hear your stories and see your pictures as Australia reacts to the Nauru files.
