Acclaimed playwright Mike Bartlett’s Love Love Love takes to the stage for an Australian premiere. It is 1967 and 19-year-old students Kenneth and Sandra are caught up in the summer of love. The world is changing, and they want to play a part.
Flash forward to the 1990s and the pair are comfortably middle class, caught up in themselves and curiously negligent towards their kids. Barlett’s play lets loose on the baby boomer generation (with Kenneth and Sandra’s daughter claiming, “you didn’t change the world, you bought it”) while also relishing in the 1960s love and glory.
