Love Island winners spin-off may not happen - as TV bosses 'fear they'll split'

Worried TV bosses reportedly aren't bothering with a Love Island winners' spin-off - because they think they could split before it airs.

Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea won the £50,000 prize last Sunday and say they have big plans for the future.

But ITV producers aren't so sure, claim The Sun .

They suggest bosses are holding back because they aren't sold that the villa king and queen will last much longer.

A source said: “It’s been a publicity disaster in previous years, when couples split before their show aired or appeared to get back together just as the programmes came out.

“Jack and Dani’s series was a perfect example last year, with everyone saying their relationship was fake.

“This year bosses want to take the heat off the contestants’ relationships, especially as it’s been such a choppy year for couples making a go of it.

“Instead they are focusing on Winter Love Island and want to nail the casting for that series.

“Of course, they’re keeping a close eye on their couples to spot any potential for spin-off shows, but at the moment it’s certainly not looking likely.”

They may have only known each other for a few weeks but the unexpected winners last night things are getting serious.

Their biggest problem appears to be location - but they already have a solution.

Irishman Greg's family home is in Limerick, while Amber is from Newcastle.

They don't see the distance as a big issue - and explained why.

Amber stunned the Reunion viewers by saying she would consider moving overseas if she felt that it was needed.

Host Caroline Flack was grilling them about living in separate countries - and what they planned to do about it.

"It's not a problem at the moment as we're both so busy," Greg said.

"Plus, there are planes every hour - it's really not a big thing for us."

Caroline turned the question to Amber and she didnt think twice before saying something bold.

"Yeah, it doesn't take long to get there, but I could always move to Ireland," she announced.
