Love Island winners show scrapped over split fears after previous break ups

In a big change for this year, Love Island 2019 winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea WON'T be getting their own spin-off show.

And it's all down to the poor track record of Love Island couples so far.

If you remember back to 2017, Chris Hughes & Olivia Attwood finished third on the show and were soon handed their own shock Chris & Olivia: Crackin' On.

However, the show ended up being talked about for all the wrong reasons as it featured their heated break up.

Nation's sweethearts and clear winners of Love Island 2018, Dani Dyer & Jack Fincham were also given their own show, but we all know what happened there and Dani is now back with her ex, while Jack stars in the new series of Celebs Go Dating.

On Sunday's Love Island Reunion, Geordie girl Amber and Irish lad Greg confirmed to host Caroline Flack that they were 'exclusive' and , with Amber joking "I might move to Ireland!"

But, regardless of whether their relationship works out or not, the pair won't be getting their own show, according to The Sun.

A source told the paper "It’s been a publicity disaster in previous years, when couples split before their show aired or appeared to get back together just as the programmes came out.

Reaction to Amber winning

"“Jack and Dani’s series was a perfect example last year, with everyone saying their relationship was fake.

“This year bosses want to take the heat off the contestants’ relationships, especially as it’s been such a choppy year for couples making a go of it.

“Instead they are focusing on Winter Love Island and want to nail the casting for that series."
