Love Island viewers in disbelief after spotting Anton's reaction to Elma's exit

Love Island fans were in disbelief tonight after watching Anton Danyluk's reaction to the explosive dumping.

Wednesday night's episode began just as Elma Pazar and Joe Garratt were leaving the villa after receiving the fewest votes from the public.

Lucie Donlan was in floods of tears as she waved goodbye to her man, but viewers were more interested with what was going on in the background.

Poor Anton was also crying and got a comforting hug from dad of the house Curtis Pritchard.

The Scottish gym owner was overcome with emotion after saying goodbye to the girl he was coupled up with and his best friend.

Floods of Love Island viewers took to Twitter to question why Anton was so upset.

One viewer asked: "Why’s Anton crying the slosh pot you’ve known her for 2 minutes."

"Why is Anton crying like say she wasn’t about to dump him," added another.

A third agreed: "Why’s Anton crying ? Elma didn’t even like you bro"

However, many fans were quick to point out that Anton was obviously upset about losing best mate Joe.

"Awww Anton is proper crying. Joe was his brooooooo in there," said one viewer.

Another added: "I actually feel bad for Anton, finally coupled up with a girl who had some interest in him and she gets kicked out as well as his best mate

"Btw Anton is actually just a sensitive little sweetheart, crying that his boys gone home. Doesn’t mean anyone no harm," explained a third.

As the Islanders returned to the garden after saying their goodbyes, Anton was still struggling to come to terms with the night's events.

He got a big hug from Danny Williams before heading back over to the fire pit with some of the boys.

Anton asked: "How can I lose one of my best mates in here and the girl I’m coupled up with in the same night."

Anton explained all in the Beach Hut (ITV)

He then went over to give Lucie, who was also saved by the public, a hug and some advice.

In the Beach Hut, Anton said: "It was very emotional tonight. I’ve been on a hell of a journey in here.

On Elma, he added: "She took it well. I’m gutted we’ve lost her as I think we could have had something romantic...but it is what it is I suppose."

*Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2
