Love Island viewers fume as Casa Amor recoupling prediction comes true

Love Island viewers were left fuming during the show on Wednesday, July 6 after the highly-anticipated Casa Amor episode ended with an abrupt cliffhanger. Earlier on in the programme the contestants learnt that there would be a recoupling, with viewers eager to see who would be sticking with their current partner and who would choose to move on with a bombshell.

It comes as the original Islanders remain separated, with the girls at Casa Amor getting to know six new boys and their partners remaining back at the main villa where they've been getting closer to the new girls. It's been a dramatic stint for many of the contestants as Dami Hope and Jacques O'Neill appear to have had their heads turned, while Tasha Ghouri is also conflicted over her feelings for Billy Brown and Andrew Le Page.

So viewers were keen to see the outcome of the annual "stick or twist" recoupling, but as the Islanders got ready many started to suspect the episode would end on a cliffhanger. One viewer took to social media and predicted: "Right so we have 15 mins, they have their getting ready montage and then Laura's entrance, is this recoupling happening or not."

While another guessed: "We are not getting a recoupling tonight." And as host Laura Whitmore joined the villa to begin the proceedings, viewers quickly realised their prediction was about to come true.

As the credits rolled, viewers were left further annoyed as ITV2 refused to give anything away and failed to share a teaser trailer for tomorrow night, meaning they would have to wait until Thursday's show for the answers.

"They leaving us on a cliffhanger? No sneak peek of tomorrow night either?" questioned one unimpressed fan, while another added: "Why ITV producers why??"

While a third commented: "Even though I knew it was gonna be a cliffhanger I'm still mad."

Another person was slightly more optimistic about Thursday's episode and wrote: "Tomorrow is going to be the best ep yet."

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
