Love Island viewers demand Danny Bibby is axed from the show

New Love Islander Danny Bibby is facing calls for him to be axed from the romance show after fans discovered a racial slur in an Instagram comment from 2019.

Danny, a 25-year-old plumber from Wigan, has barely featured on the programme after entering the villa on Thursday night at the end of the show.

Fans of the show discovered a comment on his Instagram post saying “My n*****” in 2019, in a reply to a comment that said ''Champ”.

The post and comment have since been removed after fans called for the post to be taken down.

Danny’s dad Richard has issued a statement about the racist remark.

"Danny does not have a racist bone in his body and there were no racist intentions to this post," he said according to MirrorOnline.

"Although it was not done maliciously, it was a mistake. I absolutely apologise on his behalf for the offence this wording may have caused.

"That would never have been his intention."

Love Island fans are outraged and many have taken to Twitter, wanting to see Danny off the show:

One said: “#boycottloveisland #dannybibby #LoveIsland can we please get rid @LoveIsland ?”

Another said: “Sorry #dannybibby #LoveIsland my WHAT!??!? my WHO!!?!? get in the bin I’m not watching till he is respectfully removed”

And: “Who is casting for this show please?!?! Love Island is a shambles”

Love Island is on tonight at 9 PM on ITV2.
