Love Island viewers convinced they’ve seen Gemma and Luca’s final date before, claiming it’s ‘recycled’ from a previous series

Love Island viewers have taken to social media after watching Gemma Owen and Luca Bish's final date on the show. The pair, who have been together since the second week of the series, arrived in a private courtyard-style set-up during Friday's, July 29 episode, but fans are convinced that they've seen the location before.

During the romantic date, Luca admitted: “Did I actually think I’d meet someone like you, that makes me want to move to the other side of England for? No,” to which Gemma replied: “We are literally the same person, it’s crazy.” The pair were serenaded by a mesmerizing six-piece ensemble.

Viewers were quick to notice comparisons with Faye Winter and Teddy Soares' final date in the 2021 series. Their date was in a similar location last year with the only difference being that they were treated to a pool with roses. Roses, themselves, were a signature of Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page's final date in the same episode.

Faye and Teddy on their epic date (ITV)

"Gemma and luca got Faye and Teddy's recycled date location," said one person on Twitter after watching the show. Another person said: "The recycled slightly upgraded version of Faye's date last year..."

Elsewhere, another person summarised: "Producers know it too, Gemma's and Paige's dates were recycled from other seasons, while this lot got 5 star Hollywood/Disney style dates (rightly so)"

Commenting on the similarity between Tasha & Andrew's and Luca & Gemma's final dates, a fourth person wrote: "Can't believe they went ahead and recycled rose petals from Tasha & Andrew's date for Luca & Gemma's date."
