Love Island USA contestants have connection to outside world due to location shake-up

Love Island USA is well underway across the pond.

And the American version of the show - which will air on ITV2 in the UK from September 7 - is usually filmed in a luxury villa in Fiji, but due to the pandemic, telly bosses have been forced to relocate to Las Vegas this year.

The hot men and women are holed up in stunning villa on top of Caesars Entertainment's boutique hotel, The Cromwell.

And due to the location of the love nest, the looking for love hopefuls have a connection to the outside world as the reality series' new home overlooks the famous Vegas strip - that is known for its hustle and bustle, bright lights and tourists.

The villa secret was revealed by show host Arielle Vandenberg during a press Q and A on Thursday.

When quizzed on the new location and how it differs to the Fijian pad that housed the previous series, the blonde shared: "It is really cool having the show set in Vegas, Vegas has this energy about it!"

Arielle then went on to dish about how the villa looks onto the strip - that is famed for its hustle and bustle and bright lights, as she added: "We have the most epic villa! They created this house ontop of the hotel and it is so beautiful and you have this awesome view of the Vegas strip it brings a whole new light and energy to the show."

She also added that all the usual Love Island villa haunts will be present as she revealed they have a pool, hideaway and iconic fire pit.

In a bid to beat the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's contestants have been sequestered in a "bubble" and been subject to quarantine before entering and are regularly tested for coronavirus.

As with the UK series, the Islanders will couple up in the hope of finding true love and eventually winning $50,000 in prize money.

* Love Island USA starts on September 7 at 9pm on ITV2.
