Love Island: Toby's Mayo mammy 'urging' him to bring Chloe home to Ireland for break after show

Love Island star Toby Aromolaran’s Mayo mammy said she’s urging her son to bring his new girlfriend Chloe Burrows home to Ireland for a break away from the limelight after the whirlwind show.

Despite a rocky start, Toby and Chloe had a triumphant ending on the show, finishing second in the live Love Island final on Monday night.

They were beaten to the punch for the €50,000 by favourites Millie Court and Liam Reardon.

Earlier in the night, they solidified their relationship when Toby romantically asked Chloe to become his girlfriend.

And Toby’s proud Irish mammy Victoria said she couldn’t be more proud of her 22-year-old son.

Speaking after the final, the doting mum from Co. Mayo said: "We are so proud, regardless of if he won or regardless of if he didn’t.

“We are just so proud of him.

“He’s got so far in that villa and I can’t imagine it was easy for him.

“We’ve seen him go up, we’ve seen him go down, we’ve seen the good, we’ve seen the bad.

“So we’re just really pleased and so excited to get him home.”

Speaking to Newstalk Breakfast on Tuesday morning, Victoria said she wants the new couple to come back to her home in Ireland for a break as soon as they can once the Love Island press finishes.

She said: “I believe that when everything is done, we’ll get the opportunity to go home and just relax a little bit and just spend some quality time together.

“And hopefully we’ll bring Chloe along with us and show her a little bit of Ireland for herself and Toby to relax.

“When he comes home I think after all the comings and goings he’s got to do when he leaves the villa, I think he’s going to want to have that getaway.

“I think we’ll try and urge him to follow me home and it’s much quieter and hopefully we can bring Chloe along with us and show her a bit of his Irish side.”

However, whilst Toby finished second, the proud Mayo native said she’s hopeful her home county will come out on top at the All Ireland final next month, and told they’ll be cheering them on on the day.

“I’ve always cheered for Mayo, born and bred, so I have to. No choice in the matter. And I hope to god they win.

“None of the family are going to have a choice because I’m going to be the one ruling the roost on this one and they’ve all got to follow Mayo.”

Victoria emerged as a bit of a star herself as fans went wild when they discovered that she was from Mayo during the ‘parent’s visits’ episode on Sunday night.
