Love Island summer series confirmed as Laura Whitmore reveals big news

Laura Whitmore revealed some big news about Love Island's summer series as the current series came to an end on Sunday night.

Just over a week on from former host Caroline Flack's death, the Love Island final aired live on ITV2 on Sunday night when Paige and Finn were announced as winners.

Bookies favourites Siannise and Luke T finished second, with Demi and Luke M in third and Jess and Ched in fourth. Prior to the reveal of the results, Laura cracked with emotion as she introduced a video tribute to Caroline, featuring some of the late presenter's best bits from her four year stint of fronting the show.

And Laura also confirmed that we will definitely get another series of Love Island this year when she said: "If you fancy being in the villa, you can be as Love Island is heading back to Majorca for the summer."

The Irish presenter also revealed that applications for the next series of the show are now open. The rallying call for contestants on the Love Island website reads: "ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who are searching for love!

"Our Islanders spend time in a luxury villa in the hope of finding love, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders, who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.

"If you think you’ve got what it takes, then we want to hear from you!"
