Love Island stars won't get to watch England in Euro 2020 final or be told score

Love Island bosses have no plans to let this year's cast watch England in the Euro 2020 final or even let them find out the score.

While the rest of the country were left on tenterhooks by Wednesday night's semi final against Denmark, the Islanders were blissfully unaware of any drama on the pitch back home at Wembley as their had plenty of their own to contend with in the villa.

But unlike during an early series of Big Brother, where housemates were given the chance to watch some of an England World Cup 2002 game after winning a task, it doesn't look like Love Island stars will be given the same opportunity as, when asked by ChronicleLive if they'd be allowed to see the game or be told the score, an ITV source said: "No they won't."

Whether the Islanders will be allowed to watch the final or be made aware of the result has been a talking point on Twitter this week, with one viewer posting: "I wonder if they can watch the England game in Love Island, imagine not knowing it’s coming home."

A second posted: "Surely the @LoveIsland cast should be allowed to watch England play in the final on Sunday? This is history in the making," and, also pleading their case, another wrote: "Genuine question but is somebody telling the Love Island contestants that England are in the final? Will they be watching it? I feel bad for them if they’re not getting to watch it"

Show bosses have faced pressure already this week from viewers over the football, with Wednesday night's episode being pushed back an hour from 9 to 10pm after calls from fans to postpone so it so they could watch England v Denmark, without missing any Love Island action.

As it happened, the semi final went to extra time, meaning that when Love Island started at 10pm, things were still very much on a knife edge at Wembley, before Harry Kane eventually netted England's winner.
