Love Island stars salaries REVEALED - and it's not as much as you'd think

Living the high life in a villa in the sunshine while chasing love is some people's ideal of a great summer.

And for the new batch of Love Island contestants there's now another incentive to taking part in the hit ITV2 show - they are set to be paid £250 a week.

But some think the sum is too small compared with the risks involved in joining the Casa Amor gang, reports the Daily Star .

From online trolling, to possible depression and other health issues, the risk of entering the Love Island villa have been well documented.

Thousands of people have applied to enter and follow in the footsteps of former winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham.

And the latest batch of contestants will be earning £50 more than last year, and if they last the full eight weeks they will bag £2,000.

But since TV chiefs keep sending in new islanders to spice things up, the majority only last a matter of days and only get £250.

Some believe it is not enough.

One source said: “Everyone now knows that stepping into that villa brings good and bad things.

“They risk coming out and being trolled on Twitter , their dreams of being a big reality star dashed, work dries up and end- ing up feeling depressed and having issues.”

Two former contestants – Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis – were found hanged.
