Love Island stars given strict orders via tannoy which they call the 'voice of God'

Love Island fans may think that they are up to date on the drama that goes on inside the villa, but there a lot of behind-the-scenes actions that never get aired on the ITV2 reality show.

The seventh series of the hit dating show has viewers completely addicted to the endless drama, cliffhangers, and unexpected twists and turns, but there are also some bigger and more bizarre aspects of Love Island that are never broadcast on TV.

While viewers are treated to a collage of the best moments over a 24-hour period, there’s much more to the show than meets the eye – especially when it comes to the islanders ‘voice of God’.

Since the show first began back in 2005, the contestants have been told what to do via a tannoy, which they have dubbed ‘the voice of God’ this year.

Whether they’ve been asked to head to the beach hut for a chat about their significant others, or whether they’ve been called by producers to get a telling off, it’s always the tannoy that informs them or where they need to be and what they need to do.

Lifting the lid on the surprising behind-the-scenes action, a TV insider also revealed that some of the conversations between the islanders are a lot less natural than they come across on TV.

According to the insider, a lot of the time, producer's ‘set-up’ certain conversations between the islanders in a bid to dramatise storylines and rile up viewers at home.

“Islanders are given direction over a Tannoy to talk to different people,” the source told The Sun.

“It’s almost like a soap opera. The cast know the more they perform, the more they’re going to feature and get air time. While all contestants are highly attractive, they can’t rely on their looks alone.”

The insider also revealed that each morning, the boys and girls are deliberately separated so the producers can get the juicy gossip from both sides the morning after the night before.

Viewers may have noticed that every morning this season, the girls all head up to the terrace to chat about the cuddling, kissing, or fondling that went on in bed with their other halves.

Meanwhile, the boys all usually gather around the daybeds to dish the dirt on their steamy nights under the covers.

The drama continues tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
