Love Island stars forced to flee from freak lightning storm by 'panicked' bosses

Love Island 2019 islanders were forced to flee inside the Majorca villa this week, according to new reports.

Apparently stars including Ovie Soko had to head inside the compound to avoid a “freak lightning storm”.

It’s reported that bad weather and lightning meant the stars of the ITV2 dating series had to stay indoors for most of the day, no doubt hindering filming for the show.

According to The Sun Online , panicked producers called the group inside in fear they would be in danger.

A source told the publication: “The weather was so bad that bosses had to make the decision to keep the Islanders inside the villa.

"It would be really dangerous for them to be outside in a lightning storm, especially with all the electrical cabling around that is needed to film the show.

"Bosses were also worried someone might slip over or even get struck by lightning - it just wasn't worth the risk."

The source went on: "The guys and girls were very good about spending the day inside but it was pretty boring for them all."

A spokesperson for the show told Mirror online: “There was some thunder on Wednesday.”

This means the scenes should have aired in Thursday night’s episode, while it appears the islanders had plenty of action outside judging by the latest installment.

There’s another storm on the horizon though, as the results of the latest recoupling air on Friday.

No boy will be dumped from the villa, but it’s down to Amber Gill to choose between Michael Griffiths and new boy Greg O’Shea.

Michael confessed he still had feelings for her this week despite dumping her for Joanna during the Casa Amor twist, while viewers aren’t buying his change of heart.

Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
