Love Island star Zara Holland engaged after boyfriend pops question on holiday

Former Love Island star Zara Holland has announced her engagement to boyfriend Elliot Love.

The former reality TV star 26, who starred in the 2016 version of the ITV2 series, met her husband-to-be after appearing on the show.

Elliot, 31, got down on one knee and popped the question in January during a romantic holiday to Dubai.

The lovebirds then celebrated a lavish engagement party last month with all their family and friends.

Lifting the lid on their engagement, a close friend of Zara's told The Sun that the former Love Island star is 'over the moon'.

"Zara is over the moon, the couple are smitten with each other and are already planning a stunning wedding.

"They’re ready to make a commitment and are looking forward to their future together.”

Zara recently opened up about her longterm relationship, admitting that she's happier than ever with Elliot.

"We're very happy together and have such a great time," she told.

"He is absolutely amazing and he's definitely the one."

Zara added that Elliot was very different to other guys in the way he approacher her for a date.

"When I did just come out the villa and I was on nights out or at public appearances guys would be like ‘Can I buy Zara from Love Island a drink?

"But he just likes me for me which was so refreshing."

Zara's engagement in Dubai comes after the former reality TV star had tried to flee Barbados with Elliot despite his testing positive for Covid-19 in 2020.

She subsequently received a £4,417 fine ($12,000 Barbados dollars) and avoided jail time, as did Love who had to pay £3,000.

Zara memorably appeared in Love Island after she was voted Miss Great Britain in 2015/2016.

However, the model was stripped of her title after she was seen having sex on the show with fellow contestant Alex Bowen.

She subsequently left the show early when her mother fell ill.

The Mirror has reached out to representatives of Zara Holland for comment.
