Former Love Island star Tom Powell has revealed he’s happily dating none other than Married At First Sight Australia’s Tamara Joy – and admitted she’s travelled from Down Under to be with him.
The Welsh hunk made the admission during a conversation with former Big Brother star Simon Gross on his Instagram Live series Love Island Extra.
When asked "who’s the love your life?", the reality TV star, 29, responded: "Well I'm dating someone off Married At First Sight.
"Do you know the Australian Married AT First Sight? So, Tamara [Joy] off there.
"She's flown over from Australia. She's been here for a month, six weeks now. She's in the other room over there."
The admission left Simon asking, "Well can we get a hello?".
To which Tom cheekily admitted: "I don't know if she has clothes on, so I don't really know if I can."
Tom found fame on 2016’s instalment of Love Island where he was coupled up with Sophie Gradon, who tragically passed away in 2018.
Viewers will remember that Sophie hit it off with bombshell Katie Salmon moments after Tom’s exit on Day 33 – however it wasn’t meant to be and Sophie and Tom subsequently recoupled outside the villa.
The couple dated when they returned to the UK but parted ways months later in November of the same year.
Opening up to OK! about the tragic loss of Sophie, 32, Thomas said in 2018: “I’m not really sure what to say to be totally honest with you. I’m still in total shock.
“I just didn’t expect this – I spoke to her a few weeks ago and she seemed as happy as Larry, she seemed the happiest I’d seen her in a while if I’m being totally honest with you.
“I’m totally devastated.”
Meanwhile Tamara, who was pictured arriving to Manchester last month, rose to fame on the sixth season of MAFS Australia.
The series which was filmed in 2019 but only aired on E4 earlier this year saw the 32-year-old paired with Dan Webb.
Unfortunately, their marriage lacked chemistry and then viewers watched as Dan embarked on a scandalous affair with another married contestant, Jessika Powell which left Tamara and Jessika’s partner Mick Gould devastated.
The latter then left the series as Dan and Jessika continued as a couple in the experiment, much to the shock of their fellow contestants.
Despite the shake up, it ultimately wasn’t meant to be for Dan and Jessika, who parted ways shortly after filming ended.
Understandably, Tamara and Dan are no longer on speaking terms after he publicly rejected her on national TV.
However, Tamara has insisted she was not as heartbroken as she appeared when the shocking truth was exposed in the commitment ceremony - as she claims she never really fancied husband Dan.
She told Closer: "Looks wise Dan was what I was after, even though I didn't find him attractive. He was my type physically, but he's too Aussie.
"He sounds like a trucker. I didn't fancy him but having him cheat on me on national TV sucked.
"I as embarrassed because I had no idea. Eve when I watched it back, it triggered me. I was just like, 'I can't believe i got so upset,' but it was because of the betrayal rather than my feelings for Dan."
