Former Love Island contestant Theo Campbell has revealed he's been left blind in one eye after a freak accident involving a champagne cork.
Theo, who appeared on the show in 2017, and famously clashed with Jonny Mitchell during a heated recoupling, took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to tell his followers that he'd been left without any vision in his right eye after the incident at the weekend.
Posting a picture of himself and girlfriend Kaz Crossley, who herself was on Love Island last year, Theo wrote "Thanks for all the messages and support I’ve got over the last couple days they’re all very much appreciated!
"So yeah basically 2 eye surgeries later after a really unfortunate accident, I’ve lost all vision in my right eye as it got split in half, who would have thought a champagne cork would be the end of me.
"But I still have 1 eye left, looking at the bright side of things. Thanks for flying out to look after me as well babe. if anyone knows where sells cool eye patches let me know :)"
Showing that he still has a sense of humour, Theo ended the post with the hashtags #captinhook #thor #fettywap .
Support has come in from plenty of his showbiz pals. His ex Love Island co-star Montana Brown commented
"Sending all the love... your poor thing," and her ex and Geordie personal trainer Alex Beattie posted "Sorry to hear this man. Lots of love brother."
