Love Island star says she 'can't return' to previous job after finding fame

Love Island winners Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan have teased their plans for the future since leaving the villa earlier this month, including discussing their careers.

The couple were announced as the latest winners of the popular ITV2 reality show just two weeks ago after having been islanders in South Africa on this year's winter series.

Sanam, 24, and Kai, also 24 - who met halfway through the series when the former entered the villa - have been looking ahead to the future in recent weeks.

They have discussed their plans in recent interviews, like the possibility of returning to their previous jobs and what they intend to do with their prize money from the ITV show.

Sanam - who worked as a social worker prior to entering the villa - spoke about her career with Heat magazine, saying: "I can't go into social work again, I don't think I'll be able to."

She however suggested that she hopes to be able to use her platform to help children in her local area, telling the outlet last week that she had a meeting planned over such.

Sanam told the outlet: "But I've got a meeting about it this week with my social work manager because I want to be able to use this platform to help children locally."

She further commented that she and Kai had spoken about their plans moving forward, with her adding that they could use their platforms to "do something".

Kai - who was a P.E and science teacher - said: "I still want to do the same thing I was doing but in a different capacity but it's just finding out what that capacity is and how I can do it."

He added that their lives are "hectic" at the moment, though he suggested that once things have calmed down for them they will consider their options over such plans.

Such remarks come amid the couple recently suggesting that they plan to help younger generations with some of the £50,000 that they won through Love Island.

Kai mentioned the possibility at the reunion show earlier this month after host Maya Jama, 28, asked what the couple planned to spend their winnings on.

Kai said: "We both like worked with kids before we entered the villa and that's something that we wanna continue doing. [...] I think we're gonna like try and take part of it and invest it in like passion projects to like really help the things that we believe in."

Sanam suggested similarly when they appeared on The Morning After podcast recently. She said: "We come from jobs where we both work with children and I actually want to be able to do something for those children."

She continued on the podcast earlier this month: "I don't know what it is because I am not very business minded [...] but there is something we wanna do there".

Sanam also revealed that she plans to give some money to her mother, and Kai suggested that they would treat themselves to some dates and holidays abroad too!
