Love Island star's sister appeals to fans of the show after Lucie Donlan is trolled over Tommy Fury

The sister of Love Island star Lucie Donlan has appealed to fans of the ITV2 dating show to 'be better than this internet culture of hate' after the surfer was trolled for making a move on Tommy Fury.
Lucie came under fire for telling the Manchester boxer she would be open to a relationship with him, even though he's coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague.

She plucked up the courage to confess her feelings to the brother of Tyson Fury and he was praised for letting her down gently before telling Molly-Mae about Lucie's confession.

But viewers took to social media to blast Lucie for the move.
Emily Airton, who is also a surfer, wrote on Instagram: "To hate is one of the weakest things you can do. Whether it is to a stranger, friend or yourself, it is disservice to who you are.
"Learn to let go of your insecurities, judgements and begin to appreciate others for who they are...

"Please be better than this internet culture of hate. Be kind, be compassionate. Be human. love you! @lucierosedonlan."

One follower said: "I am a psychologist and we have been shutting down comments about Lucie on Twitter. Bullying In and out of the villa is not ok. Please spread love only."

Another said: "Sending her my love."

Lucie and Tommy chat (ITV)

Lucie, who has now entered Casa Amor with six new hunks waiting to date the ladies, was paired with former contestant Joe Garratt until he was axed from the show.

She was previously in a love triangle with Tommy and Joe and on a date with Tommy they realised they had a connection because they both loved their sports.

"I got more thank I bargained for. There was a real connection there," said Tommy.

But then until Molly-Mae entered the villa as a newcomer and he fell for the social media influencer on a hot tub date.
