Love Island star reveals she's suffered a miscarriage after losing her baby daughter

Love Island star Malin Andersson has revealed that she's suffered a devastating miscarriage two years after the tragic death of her baby girl.

Malin, 28, explained on Instagram that she had 'disappeared' for a while to take time out.

"I found out I was pregnant - and I then soon after miscarried," she explained.

The motiviational speaker , who is an ambassador for the stilllbirth and neonatal charity Sands, went through the painful loss of her one month old daughter Consy in January 2019 after she was born seven weeks premature.

Malin, who appeared on the hit dating show Love Island in 2016, was flooded with supportive messages after she told of her miscarriage heartbreak.

She wrote: "Obviously I have disappeared for a bit and I have had hundreds of messages from people asking if I am okay and sending me love.

"I appreciate every single message and it means a lot that you all want to make sure I am okay.

"Sometimes I need to take time to deal with my life privately, as my life is so public, I needed to take time out.

"The past few months haven’t been easy for me, but there is also something else I would like to address.

"You all know that I am very transparent about taboo subjects, and I like to shed light on things that are often not spoken about and especially trauma I have experienced myself.

"I found out I was pregnant - and I then soon after miscarried.

"It pains me to talk about this in detail right now due to what happened to Consy... but I want you all to know that miscarriage doesn’t discriminate and it can happen to anyone.

"Even when you think you have gone through enough."

She added: "I’ll be fine - my strength never ceases to amaze me sometimes but I felt that I needed to share this with you all as I’ve never been one to hold anything back - especially when I know it can help someone else."

Earlier this month Malin spoke movingly about visiting the grave of her daughter, who was named after her mum who died of cancer in 2017, and shared a poem in tribute.

"I can’t stop thinking about what her personality would have been like..." she wrote.

"I saw this poem and I wanted to share it with those that have endured the same pain...

"I never got to hold you, or bounce you on my lap. I never got to read to you, or watch you as you nap.

"You slipped away so quickly, before I said your name. And I want the world to know, I loved you just the same."
