Love Island star pays heartbreaking tribute to tragic brother after family funeral

Love Island star Dr Alex George has paid a tribute to his little brother, a day after laying him to rest.

In an emotional Instagram post the 29-year-old medic promised Llyr he will live his dream of becoming a doctor.

Making a pledge to his brother, who was due to begin studying at medical school, Alex wrote: “Every patient I see, we will do it together, you and I.”

When Llyr died last month, Alex said: “I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health”.

The family funeral took place on Monday after which the A&E doctor revealed it “was the hardest day of my life”.

He wrote on Instagram: “Except it wasn't goodbye. Llyr, your dream was to become a doctor, you will live that dream. Every patient I see, we will do it together, you and I.

“Your favourite passion is cars, every time I am out driving, I know you will be there laughing and smiling with me. I love you so much Llyr, you are always with me, my boy.”

Former Love Island stars sent condolences to Alex.

Rosie Williams wrote: “My heart breaks for you Alex! All my love and thoughts are with you.”

And Demi Jones said: “Sending you all my love and strength always.”

Alex appeared on Love Island in 2018.

He is an A&E doctor and has documented his experience working in the healthcare system during the coronavirus pandemic.
