Love Island star Ovie Soko is heading into the Great British Bake Off tent and back onto our screens

Ovie Soko will be stepping up to the plate and into the kitchen in a bid to be crowned winner of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.

The Love Island star, 28, garnered a huge fan base after taking part in the reality dating series during the summer and now, he will be flexing his baking skills in a bid to be crowned star baker.

Soko, who is a basketball player and model, will be joined by fellow stars including presenter Carol Vorderman, documentary maker Louis Theroux, This Morning presenter Alison Hammond and singer James Blunt.

Other stars taking part in the five-episode series, which will air this Spring, include actor Richard Dreyfuss, tennis star Johanna Konta, Queer Eye's Tan France and TV presenter Caroline Quentin.

Also hoping to withstand the heat of the kitchen tent will be presenter Alex Jones, TV judge Rob Rinder, Scarlett Moffatt and comedian Mo Gilligan.

Fresh from her unexpected star turn on The Masked Singer, actress-turned-DJ Patsy Palmer will also be baking, alongside comedian Joel Dommett, The Inbetweeners' James Buckley, Russell Howard, comedian Jenny Eclair and one-time Strictly Come Dancing finalist Joe Sugg.

Each episode will see four of the celebrities battle it in the show's usual three rounds – the Signature, the Technical and the Showstopper – before Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood judge their efforts.

Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig will return as hosts and the series is part of Channel 4’s fundraising Stand Up to Cancer.

Sarah Lazenby, head of formats and features at Channel 4 said: “The Great Celebrity Bake Off is a key ingredient in our Stand Up To Cancer recipe. We’ve seen the power of using comedy and entertainment to bring awareness and raise millions of pounds to fund pioneering cancer trials.

"We hope viewers will enjoy this year’s line-up of famous bakers, there’s never a dough moment as each bring something fresh and exciting to the tent.”

Kieran Smith, executive producer, added: “We are thrilled to be partnering up with SU2C once again and helping to raise crucial funds in the fight against cancer. On your marks, get set…. Donate.”
