Love Island star Molly Marsh's mum hits back at 'fix' claims after false allegations

Molly Marsh's mum has hit out at accusations from Love Island viewers that her daughter was 'planted' in the villa by show bosses and that she is an ITV producer herself.

Molly has been one of the most talked about contestants in the new series so far, wither some of the other girls in the villa coming under fire for 'bullying' her last week, as Love Island fans also raised concerns about Mitch Taylor's behaviour towards her. And now, as her romance with early bombshell Zach Noble appears to be going from strength to strength, Molly has become the subject of allegations that she ended up on the show because of her mum's job.

Fans claim to have 'rumbled' Molly's past links with Love Island, with a photo of her and former contestant Molly Mae Hague also surfacing online. Taking to Twitter, one viewer blasted: "Knew from one day one she was an industry plant" while another said: "Sorry, Molly is giving ITV production plant."

Things then escalated further when Molly's mum Janet was accused of being an ITV producer herself, something she has now vehemently denied in an extensive social media statement. Shutting down the allegations against both herself and daughter Molly, Janet wrote: "I just want to put you all straight on this ‘producer plant’ rubbish.

“I do NOT work for ITV!! I never have! And don’t know where this ridiculous idea has come from “I’m a teacher and part time actress and mum! Unless there is someone with the same name at ITV, but it’s 100% not me. So please don’t believe this nonsense, it’s not fair on us or Molly."

Janet, who has appeared in ITV shows like Coronation Street and Where The Heart Is, added: "We are a hard working family and these comments are unfair and untrue. There… I feel better.”
