Love Island 2019 viewers think they have rumbled the “real reason” Michael Griffiths confessed his feelings for former flame Amber Gill so suddenly.
The islander did a complete u-turn in Thursday’s episode, as days after telling Amber they would never reunite, he admitted he had feelings for her.
He even hinted dumping her for Casa Amor new girl Joanna was a mistake, as he attempted to woo her all over again.
Amber must now decide between him and new boy Greg O’Shea in the next recoupling, but things might not work in Michael’s favour after a confession.
Belle Hassan, who joined the show with Joanna, was quick to tell Amber her suspicions over Michael’s sudden change of heart.
She revealed that just days earlier, she’d had a conversation with him about Joanna’s exit after she was voted out the villa at the end of last week.
Belle said to him that after he failed to leave with her, she wasn’t convinced Joanna would be sticking around for him.
She told a number of islanders about this conversation, while also telling Amber to speculate whether Michael’s u-turn was a decision made off the back of the chat.
Amber decided to confront Michael about the possibility, but he denied it insisting he truly had feelings for her.
But viewers were far from convinced, taking to Twitter with their suspicions that Belle was behind him telling Amber how he felt.
One fan said: “So Belle tells Michael that she doesn’t think Joanna will wait for him and then he tries to get back with Amber…”
Another agreed: “Ahh Belle tells Michael Joanna wont be waiting for him and then boom Michael has feelings for Amber.”
A third tweeted: “Belle saying Joanna won’t have waited for him and Greg coming in is EXACTLY what’s given Michael the kick up the a**e to say he still likes Amber he’s a bloody slimeball.”
