Love Island star Dr. Alex George lands gig new resident doctor on Six O’Clock Show

Former Love Island star Dr. Alex George has landed a new gig as Virgin Media One’s The Six O’Clock Show new resident doctor.

The former reality star, who works as an A&E Doctor and Youth Mental Health Ambassador made his first appearance on the show on Tuesday evening.

Dr Alex will join Muireann O’Connell and Martin King every month to demystify the latest medical news.

The TV doctor originally rose to fame on Love Island 2018.

Since then he has continued to work in A&E and has been working as an emergency doctor throughout COVID-19.

His new appointment comes after he was appointed UK youth mental health ambassador by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

In a post to his 1.7 million Instagram followers, Alex wrote: "Never has mental health been as important as now.

"From schools to universities, the NHS and the wider public, mental health matters."

The prime minister said the focus of Alex's role will be on children and young people's mental health.

The Six O’Clock Show airs weeknights at 6pm on Virgin Media One.
