Love Island star Chris Hughes lays into shambolic'' Sunderland after another heavy defeat

Love Island star and keen Sunderland fan Chris Hughes has laid into the club after they suffered another heavy defeat on Tuesday night, losing 3-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Chris, who reached the final of the ITV2 dating show in 2017 alongside ex Olivia Attwood, was left eating his words from just a few weeks ago, when he tweeted that the Black Cats were "too good," for League One, after they lost their third league game in a row, following a very promising start to the new season.

And, having seen them lose 5-1 to Rotherham at the weekend and 4-0 to Portsmouth at the start of last month, Chris couldn't hold his anger in and took to Twitter to rant: "5-1, 4-0 and 3-0 down in the last 6 games is a shambles in any league. Joke."

Reminding him of his much more positive previous tweet from October 19 when Chris tweeted: "We're actually too good for this league," as Sunderland beat Crewe 4-0, one fan replied: "This you?"

After the game, a fellow Sunderland fan responded: "Well said, losing ground on the top four! Weren't we top of the league not so long ago?" and another commented: "We don’t just lose we surrender. Is as if these players have no fight or mental resolve"

Despite SAFC still being 5th in the League One Table, reaching the quarter final of the Carabao Cup last week, others called for manager Lee Johnson to get the boot, with one predicting: "He will be gone by Christmas! Downward slope now i feel"

However, others reminded Chris that it wasn't so long ago that the Wearsiders were winning by big margins, with one of his followers tweeting: "You also won 5-0 and 4-0 in the last 7"
