Love Island star announces she's expecting first child with Hollyoaks heartthrob following whirlwind romance after meeting on Celebs Go Dating

Former Love Island star Laura Anderson has announced that she is expecting her first child with Hollyoaks hearthrob Gary Lucy. Laura, who was a runner-up on the ITV2 dating show with Paul Knops in 2018, fell for Gary when they starred together on the matchmaking show Celebs Go Dating last year.

The show sees celebs date members of the public, but Laura, 33, and Gary, 41, had viewers rooting for them as a couple after they formed a close bond. Laura shared the happy news of her pregnancy on Instagram today (Tuesday February 15) and posted a video reel of herself stroking her bump, attending ultrasound scans and celebrating the news with Gary.

Gary played Luke Morgan in the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks from 1999 until the character was killed off last summer. Their baby will be the first baby from Celebs Go Dating, which launched back in 2016.

"Our hearts are full Baby Lucy due 'Summer 23," the mum-to-be wrote. The reel also included a joyous photo of herself and Gary in matching festive pyjamas as the former Footballers' Wives actor proudly held Laura's bump.

Laura could also be seen popping a large balloon with 'Boy or Girl?' written on it. But the clip switched to black and white as she released the gender reveal confetti to keep it a secret from fans.

Laura took took part in the dating show following her split from singer Dane Bowers. Meanwhile Gary, who has four children with his ex wife Natasha Gray, signed up following his divorce four years ago.

Fellow Love Islander Shaughna Phillips from the winter 2020 series, who is also expecting her first baby, told her: "So happy for you darling, the best news ever." And Molly-Mae Hague from the summer 2019 series, who recently welcomed baby girl Bambi with partner Tommy Fury, said with a crying and love heart emoji: "Congratulations omg."

Maura Higgins, who shot to fame in the same series as Molly-Mae, also said a stream of with heart emojis: "Congratulations." And Tasha Ghouri from Love Island 2022 exclaimed: "AHHH!!! Congratulations angel."

Faye Winter from the 2021 series messaged: "Congratulations beautiful so happy for you." And Christine McGuinness wrote: "Congratulations beautiful lovely news."

Charlotte Dawson told her: "So happy for you babe omg omg omg omg." And former The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward said: "You will make the best mummy."

Married at First Sight UK star Amy Christophers told her: "Omgggggg congratulations my loves." And E4 messaged: "Congratulations! Can’t wait for the first Celebs Go Dating baby."
