A Love Island star took advice from Gary Lineker's son as his bet with £7,000 winnings fell at the final hurdle.
Charlie Brake, who appeared on season four of the hit TV show, needed one more horse to win in his acca to scoop the cash. After a run of success at York, he was banking on Golden Lyra in the 4.40 race.
Brake asked his 50,000 Twitter followers for advice on the £25 each-way four-fold, which had a payout of £6,927.25.
And George, one of football legend Lineker's four sons, told him to stick with it and see how his final selection fared.
"Let it ride son, the buzz will be biblical," he wrote.
The bookmaker Brake placed his bet with had offered him £1,622 to effectively cancel the last leg – and deny him the chance of winning the greater sum.
But the London socialite took his chance with Golden Lyra, the 11-4 favourite for the Listed British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes. He watched on as the filly faded out of contention after being in with a chance around the two furlong pole.
"Don't have a bet often but good fun when they get that close," Brake tweeted.
"No cashout but we live to fight another day."
Brake had a second acca, running on the same race, which included a rival of Golden Lyra's, Mimikyu. Frankie Dettori's mount finished a place in front of her in seventh, as Ryan Moore produced a race-riding masterclass to win on Haskoy.
Plotting a lone furrow up the far rail, the jockey's confidence in his horse's ability was clear as he thwarted the challenge of Time Lock.
Both runners were carrying the colours of famous thoroughbred operation of Juddmonte, the sponsors of Tuesday's feature contest taken in devastating style by Baaeed.

Brake's second bet had a return of just over £3,000.
Shouldvebeenaring's last gasp triumph in race two and Blue For You's late charge to the line in the third contest set his four-fold on its way. Then Alpinista's brave effort in the feature Group 1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks had Brake waiting to see if would collect nearly £7,000.
"Hope you cashed out. Cracking bet either way," said one punter.
Brake, who also appeared on Ex On The Beach, is not the only former Love Island star who has a passion for the sport.
Chris Hughes, paired with Olivia Attwood in the villa in 2017, works as a presenter for ITV Racing. Frankie Foster, who hails from the home of jump racing, Cheltenham, has a similar role for Racing TV's Raceday, which appeals to a younger audience.
He appeared in the same series as entrepreneur Brake in 2018, won by Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham.
