Love Island spoilers: Is Michael and Amber's relationship under threat as the new islanders make their moves?

One of Love Island's strongest couples could be feeling the strain thanks to the show's savage Casa Amor twist.

Friday's episode saw the girls head off to Casa Amor, where they met six new single boys. Meanwhile the boys stayed behind in the villa and were greeted by half a dozen new girls.

In tonight's instalment, Love Island newbie Joanna decides to make a play for Michael Griffiths, who has previously been happily coupled up with Amber Gill, a pairing considered one of the strongest and most genuine partnerships in series five.

Wanting to know more about how serious Michael's feelings for Amber are, she pulls him for a chat and decides to ask him outright.

"Things are going well," he responds. "I wouldn't really say we've had our ups and downs. We've had a little blip. It's certain things that have gone on that I think [are] quite childish," he adds, alluding to the drama which followed Danny coupling up with Arabella and sending Yewande home.

"Are they things that I would probably put up with outside? Probably not as much as I am in here," he admits. "She's quite straight with everything but at the same time she's not straight with me sometimes and that can be quite frustrating."

Asked by Joanna about whether his head could be turned by another girl, he confesses: "If somebody comes in that's genuinely better suited to me than Amber is, then it's one of those things."

Later, he mulls over the possibility of sharing a bed with the new girl, pondering: "Is it worth the potential headache of sharing a bed with Joanna if there's nothing actually there, or if I don't share a bed with Joanna and there is something there than am I just shooting myself in the foot?"

Meanwhile original islanders Anna and Jordan appear to be quickly moving on from their previous coupling, with Anna clearly keen on new boy Ovie and Jordan displaying an interest in Jourdan.

Anna even goes so far as to describe the professional basketball player as "the perfect match," admitting: "I love Jordan and it makes me gutted that I'm saying that but I have to be honest and you look perfect."

Even Curtis, who initially vows to stay true to "half girlfriend" Amy, seems to be cracking after the new girls' arrival.

"I'm a bit all over the place," he admits. "There is nothing wrong with me and Amy in any way. Our relationship is great, everything is incredible, it's fantastic [...] But I don't know why, I'm really confused.

"These girls have come in and there's two of them, Jourdan and Joanna. I don't know, I feel a little bit weird."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
