Love Island spoilers: Devastated Joe has meltdown when Tommy takes Lucie out on a date

Devastated Joe Garrett has not had a good start in the Love Island villa.

After barely believing his luck when he paired with Lucie Donlan, the sandwich company owner had her brutally snatched away by Tommy Fury within just 24 hours of coupling up with her.

To stick the knife in even more, tonight poor Joe has to witness Lucie going out on a romantic date with the Mancunian boxer, who is the brother of heavyweight champion Tyson.

In a teaser released ahead of tonight’s episode, Lucie can be seen smiling happily as she enjoys a meal with Tommy, 20, despite earlier insisting that she was enjoying her time with Joe.

Joe visibly upset by the move, and later Amber - who had her eye on Tommy - comforts him.

But her actions perhaps have an underlying motivation when she appears to stir the pot by telling Joe that Lucie might have actually wanted to have been picked by Tommy.

Viewers watched on Tuesday’s show as Joe and Lucie were split up by latecomer Tommy.

Tommy arrived with Curtis Pritchard - brother of Strictly Come Dancing star AJ - and they were both tasked to couple up with a girl of their choice.

Curtis chose Amy over Yewande - who he had also been getting to know - before Tommy picked surfer Lucie.

Tonight’s episode will air the romantic dates and the fall out from the dramatic scenes.

Love Island continues tonight from 9pm on ITV2.
