Love Island: Sneak peak at first coupling up as girls fight over boys

ITV has shared a sneak peak from the Love Island villa, as the first couplings get underway.

The pictures show this year’s contestants lined up around the pool as they decide who they’re going to couple up with.

Filming for the show's seventh series started yesterday, ahead of the first episode tonight (Monday, June 28) at 9pm.

The teaser photos show Liberty Poole, Sharon Gaffka, Kaz Kamwi, Faye Winter and Shannon Singh in line to meet their men, and they couldn’t be more excited.

But Chloe Burrows is suspiciously missing from the lineup, sparking rumours that she could be involved in the show’s first bombshell.

As the Mirror explains, the first round of coupling up is always particularly brutal, as the women have to decide who they want to partner up with, and share a bed with, based almost entirely on looks and first impressions.

If interested, they can then put themselves forward - and if more than one girl steps up, the men can then decide who to pick.

However, the girls can change their mind if another hottie comes in afterwards and takes their fancy.

Similarly, if none of the women fancy the guy on offer, there’s a long bout of awkward silence as they are relegated to the last picked of the pack.

However, there will be an extra girl around after the coupling up, and judging on past series, they will need to crack on quick smart in order to keep their place in the villa safe.

That’s if there aren’t any bombshells thrown in as well to cause more trouble.

Among this year’s female villa cast members are a fashion blogger and a civil servant.

In the boys is a PE teacher who still lives with his nan and a hunky water engineer.

It's been reported two of the cast even dumped their other halves in order to appear on the show.

While love is on the menu for everyone, there’s also the £50,000 prize still at stake - which the winners can choose to split with their partner or steal.
