Love Island slammed for sex scenes as Emma Jane Thompson's sister reveals shock at antics

ITV has been forced to defend its decision to air shocking sex scenes with the love Island footage slammed by viewers.

Raunchy antics are perhaps to be expected on the show but even family members of Emma Jane Thompson say her behaviour has gone too far.

Footage of her having full on sex was aired just ten minutes after watershed, with other members of Love Island also looking on.

Despite claiming she would never have sex on television, Emma-Jane Thompson let the moment get the better of her as she enjoyed a romp with Terry Walsh as the rest of the villa watched on in horror.

Speaking in defence of the X-rated scenes, an ITV insider reportedly told The Sun: "The focus on what was shown was the reaction of the islanders rather than what Emma and Terry were doing."

The hugely popular show has seen several contestants have sex on the show, but it sunk to new levels when a pair of contestants – 19-year-old Emma-Jane Woodham and 28-year-old Terry Walsh – had full on sex on screen above the covers, just moments into the show.

The scenes aired at 9.10pm, leaving over a million viewers absolutely shocked to see the couple get down and dirty.

Viewers had previously seen Emma swear that she was not interested in having sex on TV, but it would appear that the mood took her during the scenes that aired on Thursday night.

“I told you — no sex on TV. It’s not a joke, I’m sure you can cope,” she had previously told Terry.

While her shocked sister reportedly said that she had been shocked: “It’s not exactly the path I would have chosen her to take.”

Speaking afterward in the Beach Hut, Emma admitted her dad won't be impressed with her actions.

She said: "Me and Terry had a bit of a kiss and a cuddle when we went upstairs last night.

"My pops is very disapproving, so he won't like that very much."

Now a TV campaign group, Media Watch UK, has blasted the show by telling The Sun: “ Love Island is creating a sexual spectacle for young people.

“Sex in the context of Love Island is being sensationalised and demonstrates nothing of real loving committed relationships.”

It comes as Emma's sister Lorna took to Twitter to claim she never expected her sister to engage in sexual antics on TV.
