Love Island slammed after Jake and Liberty's 'uncomfortable' Aftersun interview

Love Island was in hot water last night after Jake and Liberty's interview on the Aftersun programme.

The popular dating show is still reeling from the duo announcing their dramatic exit on Friday night.

Jake and Liberty had been identified as one of the favourites to win tonight's final after they had been together since the start of the season.

However, they announced their shock split last Thursday as Liberty told Jake that he didn't love everything about her.

Fans were eager to see the former couple interviewed by host Laura Whitmore on last night's edition of Aftersun - as Birmingham Live reports.

But viewers were disappointed over how long they were made to wait to see the couple and then criticised the awkward interview on Twitter.

One user wrote: "Are they trying to destroy my beloved Liberty? Make her watch her breakdown from two days ago twice on a giant screen?"

A second said: "This interview with Jake and Liberty is very uncomfortable. I think they both still have feelings for each other."

A third wrote: "They need to stop pushing the Liberty and Jake getting back together idea on #LoveIslandAftersun Lib looks really uncomfortable."

A fourth added: "It's so awkward for Jake and Liberty on #AfterSun."

The Love Island final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
