Love Island shock as villa find out when first dumping will happen

Everyone knows the course of romance never gets the chance to run smooth on Love Island and no sooner than this year's contestants have entered the villa, they've received news of the first dumping.

This year's Love Island enjoyed record viewing figures for its launch on Monday, with an average audience of 3.7 million tuning in to watch it.

Love Island contestants including Geordie girl Amber Gill and late arrival Tommy Fury, have kept us entertained over the past few nights but some of them are on borrowing time, after the text they'd all been dreading...news of the first dumping.

Tommy and Curtis' late arrival threw a spanner in the works when they had to steal someone else's girl to couple up with, leaving Joe and Anton single and on thin ice.

Reading out the text that reveals all, Anton says "Anton and Joe, you are now single. At the end of the week all Islanders will take part in a recoupling.

"Anyone not picked to be in a couple will be dumped from the island. #ScotFree #DontBeSourdough.”

Joe might not be single for long though as , while, ironically, Tommy turns his attention back on her."

*Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2
