Love Island: Sherif Lanre would not have been allowed to say goodbye to islanders says Eyal Booker

Eyal Booker has revealed Sherif Lanre would not have been allowed to say goodbye ahead of his removal from Love Island.

The chef-come-rugby player mutually agreed to leave the ITV2 show after breaking a rule. It is still unclear what he did.

Booker, who was on the 2018 series, said islanders would have been informed of Sherif’s exit after he had already left through the back door.

Speaking on the Evening Standard’s Off the Island series, he said: “There’s not much we’re not seeing. If he breaks a serious rule he will be removed from the villa straight away. The other islanders will be told after he’s removed that he has been removed and then they’ll carry on.

Out: Sherif Lanre agreed with producers to leave the show (ITV)

“It won’t be turned into a big deal. We’re allowed to talk about it but that’s not something the viewers are going to see because it’s a dating show about finding love.”

Sherif agreed with producers to leave the show after breaking the rules “in a case of poor judgement” earlier this week.

A statement from ITV read: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”

He later released a statement on Instagram telling fans “it is what it is”.

“Thank you to everyone including my friends and family for the support I’ve come back to,” he wrote. “I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love Island and for anyone wondering I’m all good.”

Love Island is on ITV2, tonight at 9pm. Off the Island airs every Friday.
